Ocean City Recognized as One of the Ten Best U.S. Beaches, the only northeastern
beach to make the competitive list
Ocean City, Md. (Feb. 23, 2007) - The Town of Ocean City is pleased to announce it has been named one of "Ten Best U.S. Beaches" by Woman's Day Online, a division of Woman's Day Magazine, a major national monthly publication. Ocean City made the elite list due to its family friendly reputation, boardwalk attractions and proximity to major east coast cities. Ocean City was the only northeastern beach to make the list, which was comprised of other resort towns such as Hilton Head, S.C., Santa Barbara, Calif., San Diego, Calif. and Clearwater, Fla.
"We are excited to be recognized by Woman's Day Online," said Mayor Rick Meehan. "To be included on such a prestigious list speaks to Ocean City's excellent national reputation and dedication to providing visitors with a memorable beach experience."
Ocean City's other national media recognitions include: One of the "Best Boardwalks in America"-the Travel Channel (2004), "One of the 10 Great Places to have Fun on the Boardwalk" - USA Today (2005), "Top 10 Lighting Displays in the Country" for Winterfest of Lights- America Online City Guide (2005), and One of America's "Best Seaside Strolls"- Reader's Digest (2006).
