Papermoon Diner
Any Baltimore local has been to the Papermoon Diner. Open 24 hours, this landmark of Charles Village features a funky conglomoration of food and decor.
The menu hosts items ranging from vegetarian friendly items such as spinach sandwiches and portobello nachos to hearty favorites like meatloaf and pigs in a blanket (breakfast is served all day). Even the pickiest eater in your party will find something to enjoy at Papermoon. The food is reasonably priced and plenty, and the desserts (try the bread pudding or apple pie!) are decadent.
But the food is not the only reason to visit Papermoon. The most friendly and entertaining wait staff I've ever encountered are employees of Papermoon. Dressed casually with no uniform, they work as a team, each serving all sections, so don't hesitate to ask if there is something you need. And don't forget to bring your camera with you - photographs are the only way you'll ever have the opportunity to see everything. There are millions of things - toys mostly, but also buttons and old tools - affixed to the walls, ceiling, and even fans throughout the building. You will certainly not be bored. Beware the upstairs bathroom, should you choose to use it - one of the decorations inside might cause a fright.
No matter what time of day, and no matter what your tastes, Papermoon will be an experience you will enjoy and remember. One thing to know, though - they accept only one form of payment, so no split checks. Go prepared with cash, and enjoy the meal!
Papermoon Diner is located on 29th street at Remington - it is the brightly colored building on the south side of the street.
