Matsuri Japanese Restaurant

Matsuri

Japanese restaurants make me feel more civilized. It has to do with the concentration it takes for me to use chop sticks, the warm moist cloths brought at the beginning of the meal to wipe your hands with, the lack of paper napkins. Eating at Matsuri makes me feel special.

Matsuri doesn’t need any promotion from me, it’s been rated best Japanese restaurant and best sushi in Baltimore over and over.

As far as I can tell, the ratings were deserved. My buddy and I couldn’t take three gulps of our waters without them being refilled. Normally, for me, miso soup is a boring prelude to some kung pao chicken, but at Matsuri the miso is rich and as good if not better than anything on the wide menu.

Matsuri is a pricey spot if all you’re looking for is some teriyaki chicken, but their sushi is excellent and deserves it’s own little post. I recommend Matsuri for a date spot or for any time you want to feel a little bit better than you really are.
