38th Annual Street Rod Nationals

This weekend, August 2-5, Louisville is playing host to the 38th Annual Street Rod Nationals.
The world’s biggest street rod event (more than 11,000 pre-‘49 vehicles registered in 2006) is produced by the National Street Rod Association® (NSRA) and returns to Louisville, Kentucky, in 2007. In addition to being the biggest street rod event in the world, the NSRA Street Rod Nationals also has the distinction of being the biggest ...

The Kentucky Bourbon Trail Starts in Louisville

This past week The Courier-Journal described a new urban addition to Kentucky's bourbon trail. Basically we've got so many fine establishments serving a wide variety of the great bourbons produced here in the bluegrass that spending time in Louisville enjoying bourbon is a great alternative to only using Louisville as the "where I'm lying my head at night" home base.

I don't know exactly which 12 locations in Louisville ...

Here in Louisville we're lucky to have a very cool team known as the Derby City Roller Girls. All summer the ladies of DCRG have been battling it out with teams from all around the south and the midwest. Sadly the season is coming to an end soon but ...

Paid concerts include:

Rascal Flatts
American Idols
Trace Adkins
Def Leppard/Styx/Foreigner

Sunny side of Louisville summer fun

Stuff left to do this summer, if you're visiting the area:

The Knobstone Trail is a 58-mike hiking trail that, believe me, compares with anything the Applachians want to dish out: on a small scale.  It's still a butt-kicker fun for the whole family.  Some sections are aggressively rugged, and  have too many switchbacks for kids, so preview the trail info on its website before heading out with young ...

Dinner and a Movie

I love the movies. Action flicks, comedies, dramas, and yes...even the occasional "chick flick" when seen with my wife. The only thing I love as much as a good movie, is good food, and nothing goes together better than dinner and a movie. One Louisville cinema gives you both in one shot!

The Stonybrook Cinema DeLux on Hurstbourne (formerly the Showcase Cinemas), has one of this towns best kept secrets right ...
