Sari Sari will not leave you Sorry
Whoa, baby. I know good food when I find it.
Imagine my surprise when a group of downtown intellectuals keen on green living suggested we travel not by foot to a nearby downtown eatery, but that we burn petrol to the near-east End of Louisville, Frankfort Ave, to be exact, to visit a little Filipino joint with a buffet the size of a hotdog cart. Our legion of hungry eggheads was sure to wipe it out in no time, right?
Well, the food was way more awesome than described (especially a coconut-based soup that I wanted to inhale with double straws, a la the classic beer helmets of yester-year), and the service was great. The buffet never went thin, and the people kept pouring in - word is evidently out on the street about Sari Sari. Trust Robin Garr's hotbytes review: he's fair and thorough, and a Louisville institution, himself.
Sari Sari has a thin website, so call the number listed if you have any questions.
You can't go wrong, however, if you show up at 2339 Frankfort Ave. to visit Sari Sari and decide it's not for you. Frankfort Avenue is filled with other tremendous nearby eateries.
