Ann Sather Always Delights

If you were in town for the Gay and Lesbian Pride parade last weekend, you were in striking distance of my very favorite breakfast place in Chicago.

Ann Sather, home of warm gooey cinnamon rolls, huge omelets, and a dozen different kinds of eggs benedict awaits at four Chicago locations (Broadway, Belmont, Andersonville, and Southport).  My home location is the one in Lakeview, at 3411 N. Broadway.  The first Sunday of every month, the Broadway location has a disco brunch.  The waiters wear disco outfits and the music is straight out of the '70s.

Every Ann Sather location reflects the neighborhood around it.  The Broadway location is in Boystown, so the Disco Brunch fits right in.  The staff at Ann Sather are always extremely nice and fast.  Both the Belmont and Broadway locations feature a delightful breakfast menu with cinnamon rolls and Swedish pancakes starring, as well as many different egg dishes (omelets, benedicts, and eggs any way).  You can go the healthy way and get granola, yogurt, and fresh fruit, or go the completely opposite direction with pecan encrusted french toast.  The coffee is excellent and comes in a bottomless cup.  If you're feeling extra Swedish, you can get ligonberries alongside your waffles for added effect!

The original location is at 929 W. Belmont, and is much larger than the Broadway location, but I really enjoy the tight pack on Saturday and Sunday mornings on Broadway.  The people at the next table over will usually take the time to chat.

If you're looking for breakfast stop by Ann Sather.  Have some cinnamon rolls.  You can thank me later!

The Ann Sather Broadway location is easily accessible from the #8 Halsted Bus, #36 Broadway bus, #151 Sheridan bus, or the #145/#146 Inner Lakeshore Express buses (Roscoe stop).  The Ann Sather Belmont location is easily accessible via the Red or Brown Line El (Belmont Stop).
