Pole dancing and booze - is that really....ummm...excercise? I moved to Chicago 9 months ago and have been craving a way to blow off some steam after work (that doesn't include drinking), and I am bored to death with running on the treadmill – yuck! I just found out that the pole dancing work out called S Factor opened this week in Chicago right around the corner from my house - YAY! I have seen it on Oprah a bunch of times and Teri Hatcher and Kate Hudson always mention the S Factor workout as a way to tone up and have fun at the same time. From what I have read on their website (SFactor.com,) it is "a unique, empowering striptease inspired and pole-dancing workout" (blush!). Think it's time to shake off my winter weight...and I hope that someone out there in virtual world has done it or knows someone who has before I spend the $. Has anyone heard of S Factor or done it?? I think they are starting classes this week – I wanna try it!

Pole dancing and booze - is that really....ummm...exercise? I have been looking for a reason to bypass my local watering hole after work and actually sweat (and not bcs the wings are too spicy). Heard of a place called S Factor that just opened in the West Loop (1400 W Hubbard), they started the whole pole dancing workout thing (on Oprah 7 times). I have seen a slew of imitators (cough, cough…Flirty Girl, cough!), but only S Factor truly caters to the body and mind, focusing on empowerment over kitsch. No mirrors, no alcohol, no wild parties, tanning beds, nail salons or Coyote Ugly-esque brashness - just real women unleashing their sensual power in a private, comfortable atmosphere away from schoolyards.

Now I'm never been to SFactor or Flirtygirl, but I am in the market for something just like these two places are offering. I don't see anything wrong with having drinks at a pole dancing place, esp if you are hosting a bachelorette party. My big complaint is "Kim". These reviews are supposed to HELP other people find what they are looking for and you appear to either work for or be friends with someone at the SFactor. If you are going to try to pretend to be a regular person, don't post almost the same comments TWICE in a few months. That is just SAD and makes me not want to go to SFactor. If the business is great, then the service should stand alone and doesn't need deceptive tactics like fake posters. Just saying!
