Flamingos at Lincoln Park Zoo

I'm sure if you've visited Chicago, you've probably visited The Lincoln Park Zoo, especially if you've visited with a family.  If you are a first time Chicago visitor, or if you've never made the trek in the summer months, I would highly recommend you make the trip.  If you didn't notice the headline, admission to the Lincoln Park Zoo is ALWAYS free for everyone.  The Lincoln Park Zoo is one of America's last remaining free public zoos.

Don't think that just because the admission is free that the zoo isn't worth seeing.  Lincoln Park Zoo is very large, with many animal exhibits.  My personal favorites are the flamingos and the monkeys, but I'm sure you and your family will find your own.

From downtown, the Lincoln Park Zoo is easily accessible from the #151 or #156 CTA bus routes.  The Lincoln Park Zoo is open year round, but has shorter hours from November 1 through March 31.

I Love this Zoo. I go at least once a month, great for walking and enjoying the weather, the exhibits are well thought out, the grounds are well maintained, plus the enclosed botanical garden close by is a beautiful place to take pictures. there is also a trail near the elephant exhibit that is like walking thru a jungle, my children love it also. Come by and enjoy the day.
