Best bar for karaoke
Karaoke has gone from being a fad in the late 1990s to being a permanent part of bar scene. As someone who is an avid fan, I've been to many of the most prominent karaoke bars, like Sidekicks, which has karaoke every night. But by far my favorite is the Blue Frog (676 N. LaSalle) conveniently located downtown. It is a friendly and casual drinking environment with a great waitstaff. They offer karaoke four nights a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday) at 10pm.
They have a good selection of songs to choose from and the backing tracks are usually pretty good (trying to sing to wimpy backing tracks can be an awful experience) and the audience is very supporting, especially as the night (and the drinking) continues. An unbelievably good time. Decent bar food too.
