Aloha Stadium Sports Carnival
Took the family out to the Sports Carnival at Aloha Stadium tonight. It was raining, but as tomorrow is a work day for me, we decided to go out anyway. The Sports Carnival is a carnival to benefit the Hawaii Youth Sports Federation and the rides and games are typical carnival stuff. What I mean to say is simply that it is not a sports themed carnival. The rides are typical, some flip you over, some whip you around, and some simply take you for a ride. You must buy ride coupons in order to ride the rides. They are a buck each, or you can purchase a 12 coupon book for 10 dollars. We bought 2 books giving us 24 coupons. The rides cost a little more at night, during the day, there is even an all you can ride wristband that you purchase through the internet http://www.ticketmaster.com/promo/qgztvi , but note that you cannot purchase these wristbands by going to the sports carnival ticket office. The easy kiddie rides were 3 coupons each and the scarier ones went for 5 coupons each. Not cheap. Parking at the stadium costs 2 dollars, but during the swap meet, it's a dollar per person. Admission is 5 dollars for all people over 40 inches tall. 'Cuz of the rain, we spent more time than usual in the games section, but my 6 year old won herself a big dog doll, which simply made her day. All in all, it was a fun night, and after a nice hot bath, my kids are now soundly asleep. The Sports Carnival runs for one more day, till 3/18. If you're going to the Swap Meet, swing by the Sports Carnival and have some fun.
