Happy Hour in Downtown Honolulu

Since my friends and I all work in downtown Honolulu, we are always searching for a good happy hour.   We've tried several different places and these are our recommendations depending on the mood we are in:

To people watch and for a hipper atmosphere, we head on over to Indigo's.  Because of it's close proximity to the financial district of Honolulu and Chinatown, Indigo's is always bustling with business people and students from nearby HPU.  It's a great place to people watch and unwind after a long day at work.  On Tuesdays through Friday from 4 - 7 p.m. Indigo's has special $2.75 martinis at the Green Room and Opium Den and Champagne Bar.

Also within walking distance of work is Bar 35.   With over 100 specialty beers available, you can choose any 12 oz. beer for just $3 or get a mixed drink for $4 from 4 - 8 p.m.  I don't know if its because of the beer and the more relaxed atmosphere, but the men seem to outnumber the women 2 to 1, so my girlfriends like to come here when they are feeling flirty.  It is a little bit loud though, so get used to yelling if you want to have a conversation.

Another great place to go that is little farther away from the center of downtown, but still within walking distance is Ocean Club at Restaurant Row.  Ocean Club offers half-priced pupus, $1.75 ocean ritas and Miller Lite drafts from 4:30 - 8 p.m. from Tuesday through Friday.  We like to sit outside, talk and order a bunch of pupus to share.  Because the prices are cheap and the food is tasty, we always end up ordering a lot without breaking the bank.
