Ala Moana Beach Park
Often times, when someone mentions Ala Moana, it is automatically linked to Ala Moana Shopping Center. The shopping mall is definitely one of the biggest in the USA and the most popular to the tourists in Honolulu. Located less than 5 minutes away from Waikiki, this area is easily accessible by the trolleys, local buses and taxis.
Although the shopping mall is indeed beautiful, this entry is dedicated to the Ala Moana Beach Park. Located just across from the mall, this beach park is often missed by tourists who are too consumed with their shopping desires.
Ala Moana Beach Park is one of the more famous beach parks in Oahu. With tennis facilities, soccer games and the frequent picnic- goers, this beach park is popular with the locals who live within that vicinity.
Less crowded that Waikiki Beach, Ala Moana Beach park offers similar panoramic views. Surfers love this area because of the waves, moms prefer to take their toddlers here because of the shallow waters and families love to spend their weekends here due to the accessibility, parking availabilities and the ample space.
If you're a tourist and would like to experience the Hawaiian beach but away from the crowds, Ala Moana Beach is your next best alternative. It is a lot quieter and it also gives you the opportunity to mingle with the locals.
So hop on the bus which takes you to the shopping mall, cross the street and enjoy your day. Watch the sunset, take a stroll by the beach, read a book, play soccer or even waddle in the waters. Whatever you do, you'll definitely enjoy yourself.
