If you enjoy reading and book fairs then this blog is for you.  I recently stumbled along a book fair downtown one day and found all sorts of great books and gifts. I spoke to Bonnie Kuchler who runs the book fair.  She sets up at different sites around town on different dates which I will post at the end of this blog.

Keneke's the place for delicious plate lunches and more

Last summer I was riding the bus through Waimanalo with a coworker.  She pointed to a small white building that didn't look like much and told me the food there was really good.  I don't get to that part of the island often.  A couple months later I was driving around and rememberd the little place my coworker reccommended.  I wanted to stop by and see if it was as ...

Radisson Hotel Narita Airport

As my job takes me to Japan a few times a month, this hotel has become a second home to me.

Although it has "Airport" in its name, this Radisson http://www.radisson.com/tokyojp_narita is actually about 20 to 30 minutes away from Tokyo International Airport(which is in Narita). It is located in an area called Tomisato and is surrounded mostly by houses and farms.

There is nothing really fancy about this hotel, ...

Ka'Iwi hiking, whales, blowholes and more

If your cruising down Kalanianaole Hwy on the east coast of the island there are many scenic spots.  One stop you should make is Ka'Iwi state park just before Sea Life park.  Ka'Iwi is also a prime spot for whale watching.  And it has it's own blowholes! It's a nice little hike along the main road once you get inside the park, or if you're more adventurous take hike along ...

Aloha Stadium Sports Carnival

Took the family out to the Sports Carnival at Aloha Stadium tonight. It was raining, but as tomorrow is a work day for me, we decided to go out anyway. The Sports Carnival is a carnival to benefit the Hawaii Youth Sports Federation and the rides and games are typical carnival stuff. What I mean to say is simply that it is not a sports themed ...
