Favorite Shopping Places at Ward Centers
Located along Auahi Street between Ward Avenue and Kamakee Street in Kakaako, the Ward Centers is a popular spot for shopping that attracts locals and tourists alike. You can find large, mainland retailers such as Pier 1, Nordstrom, Ross, Borders and Quiksilver/Roxy, local retailers like Crazy Shirts, T&C and HIC, and specialty shops like Brookstone and Franklin Covey. But my favorites are the smaller, less well-known shops like those below (in no particular order):
Cottage By The Sea - This shop carries the coolest and hippest jewelry lines worn by the Hollywood "it" girls. The silver and gold jewelry is simple and modern, and the prices are reasonable. There is even a line of jewelry with inspirational sayings on the pendants, bracelets and rings that make thoughtful and thought-provoking presents.
Cinnamon Girl - For the cutest, most feminine clothes and accessories, look no further. Everything in this store is pretty, girly and fun. This shop carries women's and girl's clothes and accessories.
Le Lotus Bleu - This place has a good selection of young, trendy, funky and casual clothes, apparel and accesories reminiscent of those found on Robertson Blvd. Most of the clothes are inexpensive, with many items priced less than $50.00. It also has a large collection of Ed Hardy and some designer jeans.
Paper Roses - This is the place for beautiful invitations, paper, cards, writing utensils, wrapping paper, photo albums and frames. There is also a bunch of wedding stuff, such as invitations, favors, and ceremony accessories, and baby shower stuff, like supersoft and plush toys, blankets, etc.
Cupcake - If you or someone you know just had a baby, you need to take a look in here. The store is small, but has supercute items for newborns and toddlers. This store also has a small selection of dainty and delicate jewelry and great-smelling soaps.
Red Pineapple - You can find great knick-knacks, home accessories, bath and beauty products here. This shop also carries Dean and Deluca products and other gourmet food items. This is where you will find great gift items that are on the "must-have" lists of various magazines.
