Creative Loafing
When you're traveling in the Atlanta area and looking for a wide array of things to do during your time here, you'll want to pick up a Creative Loafing newspaper. This free weekly is, like in many cities, the best repository of local information you'll find. And obviously, it has the best name of any weekly in the country. Called "The Loaf" by locals, you'll find galleries, theatre events, concerts, and a sometimes controversial glimpse into local politics. New issues of Creative Loafing come out on Thursday morning (in many locations, you'll be able to pick up a new issue on Wednesday night). The Loaf's green newspaper boxes are conveniently located throughout the city and surrounding metro area and tens of thousands of businesses will have The Loaf available at their front door. Creative Loafing is such a staple for Atlantans that they go quickly in many places. Certainly, by Monday or Tuesday, it can often be a challenge to find on around town.
