Atlanta Laughs

It's Friday afternoon, and you've got a weekend stretching out in front of you. How will you fill your time before Sunday afternoon's nap? Try some side-splitting humor at one of Atlanta's top comedy clubs.

Here are some of the best stops to get you started:

The Punchlinepunchline_01.jpg

Come and see why The Punchline has been Atlanta's premier comedy club since 1982. Located just north of Buckhead, the venue is not much to write home about, but the national headlining talent is! Since all the big acts on the comedy circuit perform here, you'll want to visit the link above for a list of current/upcoming shows. Call 404-252-LAFF (5233) for more information.

Reservations are highly recommended. Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver's license to enter. The Punchline has been voted among the "10 Best" by USA Today.

Ticket Pricing: Depends on headlining act. Check website for schedule/pricing.

Whole World Theatre Company
wwtlogo.jpgIf you loved ABC's "Whose Line Is It, Anyway?," you'll love Atlanta's Whole World Theatre Company. Located in Midtown, "Whole World Theatre Company" takes its show-style and inspiration from Chicago's "Second City Theater" and L.A.'s "The Groundlings." Voted 2005's Best First Date in Atlanta and 2006's Best Local Improv Troupe, you'll want to make this one of the first stops on your list. For more information, click the link above or call 404-817-0880 or 404-817-PLAY (7529).

Ticket Pricing: $10-22 ($6 for Sunday matinees)

Dad's Garage

Located in the old Actor's Express theatre in historic Inman Park, "Dad's Garage" offers offbeat plays and bold improv comedy routines. Known for "pushing the comedy envelope," be prepared for some "irreverent and dangerously funny stage antics." They're also very big on audience participation, so come prepared to give improv a try—if you dare! For more information, please visit the link above, or call 404-523-3141.

Ticket Pricing: $5 to $15
