The Louvre-Atlanta

In partnership with the Musee du Louvre in Paris, the High Museum of Art in Atlanta is exhibiting hundreds of works of art from the Louvre's collection from October 2006 through 2009.
These exhibitions will trace the history of the Louvre from its royal beginnings to present day, and will feature paintings by artists such as Raphael, Rembrandt, and Velazquez. The current exhibition will also feature dazzlings collections of tapestries, fine china silver, and ornate furniture. Many of these items have never before left the Louvre in Paris.

Year 1—The Royal Collections (2006-2007)
A series of three exhibitions will portray the royal collections amassed by France's royal family before the Revolution. Kings as Collectors will reveal paintings by artists such as Raphael, Rembrandt, and Velazquez—including one of the Louvre's greatest treasures, Raphael's Portrait of Baldassare Castiglione.
In March 2007, Decorative Arts of the Kings will showcase a display of luxuries manufactured for the French royal families and their courts. This amazing collection of tapestries, fine china, silver, and ornate furniture has never left the Louvre.
