Hartsfield-Jackson Int. is the World's Busiest Airport

 airport

Hartsfield-Jackson International airport proved to be the nation's busiest airport for the second year in a row with 976,307 flights logged in 2006. Airport employees contribute the title to the airport’s capacity and efficiency.  For the most part my experiences with the airport have been pleasant. There was one unlucky day about three years ago before I had moved here when I visited on business. My flight from Pittsburgh was delayed almost 5 hours due to a mechanical problem with the plane. When I finally got to Atlanta around 3am I was exhausted. To make matters worse, the moving walkways were not moving. But what really sent me to the brink of tears was the discovery that the train was out of order. If you think the airport is big, try walking through the entire thing lugging a heavy carryon without wheels (I won’t make that mistake again). But at the end of the day things turned around when AirTran announced that when there is a delay not caused by uncontrollable circumstances, they will take care of their customers. They gave us all a free roundtrip ticket to anywhere they flew. And with that ticket I took a beautiful trip to the Bahamas. I guess it was a lucky day after all. I love the Atlanta airport!
