El Myr in Little Five Points

To really visit a city, you go where the locals go. The service may not be as prompt and the décor might be shabbier than most of your fine dining establishments, but frequenters guarantee their music selection in the juke box and you’ll get a taste of what at least some of the dwellers are like, and maybe leave knowing why they keep going there.
Nestled in Atlanta’s Little Five Points area for more than nine years, El Myr, 109 Euclid Ave., is a no-frills, “gem” of a burrito-bar that serves up unbeatable pitchers of homemade sangria and tasty guacamole for a fair price.
Amazingly fresh salads, nachos, burritos as big as your appendages, giant soft tacos and quesadillas complete the menu, including everything from a grilled Tilapia burrito to a scrumptious barbeque chicken quesadilla or a vegan “Hazedilla,” packed full of meatless goodness. There’s a full tequila bar, as well, and they have Pabst Blue Ribbon on tap, and other domestics.
There’s usually no wait, unless a show at the nearby Variety Playhouse is about to go on, but if you don’t mind the smoke (the whole place is smoking), street parking and the presence of bad art on the walls, you won’t miss an integral piece of this major metropolitan city.

while i don't get out much, when i do, i appreciate the candor and brevity of a "no bull****" guide. i have to say that this description of what i consider to be one of the best mex joints this side of the mississip is hands down spot on. the burritos were really as big as my appendages and the hazedilla packed a punch i won't soon forget. and, the pabst was the frostiest in the land. thanks again for a trmendous description of a tremendous place. i'll def. be back for more.
