Tampa's Long Scenic Sidewalk

Image of park

One of the most unique outdoor features belonging to Tampa's downtown is the sidewalk along Bayshore Boulevard. It is boasted as the world's longest continuous sidewalk with a length of 4.5 miles. The 10-foot wide sidewalk sits between Bayshore Boulevard and Hillsborough Bay. It begins on the north at Columbus Statue Park and travels south to end at Gandy Boulevard. Parallel to the sidewalk is a 3 mile on-road bicycle lane on the northbound lane of Bayshore Boulevard between Gandy Bouldevard and Rome Avenue.

This scenic path is a popular spot for runners, walkers, in-line skaters, bicyclists and those out for a leisurely stroll. You'll enjoy the beautiful views of the bay, the Tampa skyline and some of the historical homes of Tampa. There are even benches along the way so you can take a rest or take in the scenery.

A true Tampa treasure!!!

Fantastic! I am planning on walking there this afternoon. I have some errands to run and plan to change my clothes at the restroom in Hyde Park and enjoy a walk. I love walking along Bayshore not only is the view awesome it is inspiring to see people of all sizes out walking, riding bikes, roller blading, running and stolling with their dogs. It is invigorating.
