Kite flying, Florida style
March is a terrific time to "go fly a kite." Here in Florida that can mean taking your kite to one of our many parks or running along the beach to set it free into our baby blue sky.
You can also become the kite. Yes, you can become the kite. Go to one of our causeways, Ft. De Soto, or one of our many beaches, on a windy day and you will see people Kite surfing. It is amazing! Instead of the traditional windsurfing these surfers harness themselves to huge curved kites that take them "flying" across the water. If they lift their legs they can even become airborned, twisting and turning in the sky.
