We're on TV this weekend.
Throughout the United States people who are tuned into sports on TV will have the opportunity to see our postcard perfect weather here in the St. Pete/Tampa area. We have the PODS Golf Championship, Spring Training and the ACC Tournament all going on here. It is exciting.
In addition there are tons of other things happening to get you outside and enjoying fun in the sun. Save your DVD of Borat for a rainy day. The Strawberry Festival is still going on through Monday. I'm going to go and indulge in a succulent dark chocolate covered strawberry and some strawberry shortcake.
Guided Segway Tours are a great way to see the downtown St. Pete waterfront area. They leave daily from Baywalk, http://www.tampabaysegs.com/
Saturday is the Downtown Art Association's monthly art stroll. It is a terrific way to acquaint yourself with an assortment of our galleries. Over 20 galleries are participating. It runs from 5:30 -9PM and is the best price, free. Most of the galleries are located on Central Avenue and all are a convenient walk from each other.
The Crawfish Festival has arrived. Gates open at 4:30 today, Friday, and at noon on Saturday and Sunday. Vinoy Park will be alive with music, food, arts & crafts and will even have a kid's tent. For more information you can visit http://www.cajunconnection.org/
This is a "festival" time of the year around here. In addition to all the activities I've already mentioned downtown Dunedin is have their Baroque Festival complete with a petting zoo and concerts. Seminole is having a carnival with classic cars, entertainment and rides. Apollo Beach is having their Manatee Arts Festival with arts and craft shows and sales to benefit the West Indian Manatee.
This is just a glimpse at the outdoor activities available this weekend. I have only skimmed the surface in hopes of enticing you to come for a visit. If inside activities are more your pleasure we have a host of theatre's offering plays, concerts and entertainment. We have comedy clubs and wonderful romantic restaurants to dine and dance. There is truly something for everyone.
