Shopping

A new neighbor was asking me about shopping today. She has moved to a shopper's paradise.
There are "malls" peppered through-out Pinellas County and Tampa. Tyrone and Countryside are two popular malls with Pennys, Dillards, Macys and Sears as anchor stores. Gulf Boulevard, that runs up and down adjacent to the beaches, is dotted with specialty and souvenir shops.
Across the bridge in Tampa, just a short 20-30 minute drive, is the International Plaza and Bay Street Restaurants. Here you will find some upscale stores; Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Tiffanys. In addition there are designer boutiques like Betsy Johnson and Louis Vuitton. In the adjacent Bay Street Area there is a wide assortment of restaurants including; Champs, the Cheesecake Factory and the Capitol Grille. It isn't uncommon to see some of our local sports heroes or celebrities enjoying lunch or having fun in the evening here on Bay Street.
If it is a bargain you want then all you have to do is travel south across the Skyway bridge and you will discover outlet shopping in Ellenton. In less than an hours drive you can find bargains at COACH, Brooks Brothers, Nike, Reebok and Michael Kors to name just a few of the outlet stores located here. Whether you want to get something to snack on at Harry & Davids or buy a special t-shirt for the "Big Dog" in your life you will find a store to meet your needs.
Needless to say my neighbor was excited to learn she has so many shopping options. If you have questions about St. Petersburg be sure to let me know. It's a great place, the more the merrier. I hope you visit soon.
