Golf year round
"Fore!" Come and play golf where the pros play. The PGA Tour FEDEX Cup PODS Championship tees off Thursday at the famed Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Palm Harbor. It is exciting that so many of the world's best golfer's are coming back into our area. We host several PGA and LPGA Championships every year on our manicured courses.
There are over 50 courses sprinkled through-out our area; each offering a different degree of difficulty or special atmosphere. Our sunny, warm weather makes golf a year round activity.
As you know by now, I love our beautiful beaches and they are just a quick drive from any of these courses. Challenge yourself on the course of your choice and then relax on the beach. Beach bars for that "19thHole" libation can be found from Pass-A-Grille to Hudson.
This weekend it is all about Innisbrook and their 900 acre resort. They offer a total of 4 top-ranked courses as well as an assortment of restaurants. You can enjoy fine dining or just kick back and have a burger. Tennis is also a priority at this fantastic resort with 11 courts. If relaxing by the pool is more what you favor they have 6 swimming pools including one that the children and the child at heart will love. It is the Loch Ness Monster pool.
My favorite part of Innisbrook is that it has trails. I like to walk or bike but for those with better knees running these trails is popular too. The resort is located close to lots of attractions including Busch Gardens and the Sponge Docks at Tarpon Springs. When your day is done you will love the bed. It is excellent. It is a great place to have pleasant dreams of that hole in one you shot against Tiger on seven.
