Disney Characters
Disney World is famous for rides, hotels, superior guest service, and also CHARACTERS! There are 4 Disney Theme parks and characters are scattered throughout each park. Disney also keeps its character offerings new and different and every 6 months they change a lot of character locations and offerings.
If you ever have a question about Disney characters- such as where they are appearing, when, or who, I would suggest asking a character attendant. These helpful people hang out with the characters all day and a lot of them work at all of the 4 theme parks so they might have an idea as to who is appearing at the other parks during the day. If you ask someone else, say a merchandise cast member, they might not be able to give you accurate information.
If you pick up a parks time guide you can find show times for shows with the characters and some character offerings. These are the only advertised character offerings. Since entertainment is subject to change daily (Sometimes Prince Charming just does not want Cinderella to leave the castle!) even these offerings are not promised. Generally if you ask a helpful character attendant they can give you up to date information for the day.
If your main mission is to meet characters, I'd suggest starting early. If times are listed on the times guide, do not wait until the last appearance. Times are very strict where characters are concerned. If the characters are promised until 5:15, that means they are leaving at 5:15 exactly and their lines close before that time. Once the line is closed, it is closed. There are usually no exceptions. This means no begging or making excuses as to why you were not there earlier or why you cannot come back (if the characters have another appearance time.) Common excuses include : We have a plane to catch, This is our last day and we've seen NO characters, We're leaving the park NOW, etc. etc. These excuses do not work and might actually hurt your chances. (Woody might not take too kindly to you yelling at his character attendant..)

Before you enter the park , around the ticket booths, you can also find lots of random characters throughout the day.
