Start the new year with a beautiful ballet - Cinderella
Sugarplum fairies and nutcrackers are nice for the fall and early winter holidays. But once that ball falls on Times Square, the ballet world is ready to get the new year in gear with perennial classics and exciting new productions.
Whether you're coming to Daytona for business, boating or to recharge your batteries at the beach or on the links, an evening at the ballet is bound to be a delightful experience.
The State Ballet Theatre of Russia will perform Cinderella on January 10, 2007 at 7:30 pm at Peabody Auditorium, just a block from the beach and near the Ocean Walk Village. This world-renowned company of over 100 dancers and musicians has enchanted audiences around the globe. The music, by Prokofiev; the choreography, by Vladimir Vasiliev, of Bolshoi Ballet fame; the sets and costumes, by Viktor and Rafail Volskiyos, will come together onstage to weave an evening of theatrical magic that will mesmorize.
Tickets are available through all Ticketmaster outlets and online at www.ticketmaster.com. If you're already in town, you can buy tickets at the Peabody box office. Hours are Monday - Friday 10am-5pm and Saturday 10am-2pm.
Prince Charming will be there. Will you?
