Jazz in Fort Collins

Last night, I returned to the candle-lit underground of the Crown Pub (134 South College) here in Fort Collins to catch some cool jazz. A great little bar that immitates an English pub, the place itself feels classy and upscale, but the drink specials make it affordable for everyone. Featuring weekly jazz, the basement lounge (complete with a phone booth and a long, wooden bar) is a popular Wednesday night hang out for music lovers in town. A rotating mix of local musicians who often play with other bands, the music varies from old standards to newer, recognizable tunes.

I enjoyed the Black Opal Shiraz, a great wine at a decent price. The food is also quite delicious; The Crown Pub serves the standard fish and chips pub food, but also some upscale pasta dishes. Last night, the gnocchi got rave reviews from the diners.
