So, I love Spain - that is why I am so excited about the 9th Door in LoDo, Denver's first and only tapas bar. I went last Tuesday night to enjoy a live flamenco guitar group, sip great wine, and sample some of the tapas. If you aren't yet familiar with tapas - you will love them. In Spain, tapas are served as appetizers that usually accompany sherry or other aperitifs and ...

When I moved to Denver a few years ago, I wasn't very big on Mexican cuisine. However, since my wife loves it, and after countless shots of various tequilas and mezcals, I've had a change of heart. Over the next few weeks, I'll take you to some of my favorite Denver-area restaurants where we'll sample the food and enjoy some tequila!
Some of my favorite places that ...

3 suggestions: The Celtic, Irish Snug, LoDo's
The Celtic: great atmosphere, but downtown parking is as much fun as cafeteria leftovers. It has a very "pub" feel to it. I have expect to step outside and see a castle on a picturesque mountainside. There's also a divine cherry and whipped cream dessert there. Is that traditional Irish faire? Who cares, it's really really good. PS to my fellow singles: on Tuesdays ...

Hey all! Here I am in the beautiful city of Denver, Colorado, and I have the need to explore. Nay, the desire to be a tourist in my hometown.
So, with that said, let's throw our keys into the fishbowl at the virtual front door and wander off into the wild blue yonder.
First task ... finding the elusive perfect happy hour. The best drinks, the best vibe for an eclectic mix ...

Like the sign on its web site says, Vita is a terrific place to eat, drink, and live--even if you're just visiting. Located in Lower Highlands at 1575 Boulder Street, just west of the Platte River, Vita is a bit removed from the fracas of LoDo, but still a short cab ride or nice walk from central Denver. Offering up some innovative modern dishes with a distinctly Italian flare, ...

In the depths of Denver (at 1553 Platte Street) is a wine bar and coffee house that has held the loyalty of coffee fanatics for more than twenty years. With convenient access from I-25 and a quaint attitude, Paris on the Platte has excellent coffee and memorable amenities to compliments the artistic atmosphere and stereotypically cool service.
A new exhibit of local art opened there last ...

Ten minutes outside of downtown Denver there is a little place called Zodiac. It rides the line between a large bar and a small night club, and is a pleasant place to spend an evening in Denver. There are poker tournaments six nights per week. There are around twenty pool tables and a variety of other games to keep the competitive personalities happy.
A year ...
