Hammond's Candy Factory

Candy; it comes in many different shapes and forms.  It is a product enjoyed by all.  It makes us feel like kids again.

Hammond's Candy factory is located at 5735 North Washington Street in Denver.  If you are coming from I-25 you'll want to exit at 58th Avenue.  On 58th you will want to head east (away from the mountains).  On your right hand side you will see a Burger King, you'll take your very first right after you pass the restaurant.  The Candy factory will be on your right hand side.

The history of Hammond's Candy factory started in 1920 when Carl T. Hammond decided to make his candies available to the public.  The factory has been moved several times over its history, moving to its current location in 2004.

Factory tours are conducted every 30 minutes and are available Mondays - Fridays 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and Saturdays 10:00 am - 3:00 pm.  The tour is free.  The first part of the tour consists of a video about the history of the factory as well as some information on the candies they produce.  There is a board in the video room that has a list of the candies that the factory is making that day.

Once the video is over, you will be lead into the factory where you will get to see the candies being made. The staff members are very friendly and are more then willing to answer any questions you may have about what they do in the factory.  They do use peanuts in the factory so if you have an allergy, then you may want to reconsider the tour.

Hammond's Candy factory is a great place for kids ages 1-99!
