Opening Day At Coors Field
The Colorado Rockies organization will celebrate its fifteenth birthday next Monday, April 2nd when they play host to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Opening Day.
The first home game of the season has become a holiday of sorts for hardcore and casual baseball fans alike. The excitement is partially due to the fact that Denver plays hosts to one of the most scenic ballparks in all of major league baseball. With clear views of snow capped mountains through the wide open concourse in left field, Coors Field leaves a lasting impression on its visitors.
While there are many attractions around the ballpark, including virtual reality batting cages and courtyard style dining, the Rockies hope that their play will be the biggest draw. With hype around two Rookie of The Year prospects as well as veterans to help anchor the team, this should be an entertaining year.
Having shared all of this, there is good news and bad news. The bad news is that the Rockies announced yesterday in a press release that Opening Day is sold out. However, for those interested in joining 50,000 of their closest friends for what is expected to be a day in the high 60’s, there is hope. A limited number of Rockpile tickets will be available the day of the game starting at 11:30am at the Rockpile Ticket Windows near Gate A.
