Where to go for St. Patrick's in Denver

3 suggestions: The Celtic, Irish Snug, LoDo's

The Celtic: great atmosphere, but downtown parking is as much fun as cafeteria leftovers. It has a very "pub" feel to it. I have expect to step outside and see a castle on a picturesque mountainside. There's also a divine cherry and whipped cream dessert there. Is that traditional Irish faire? Who cares, it's really really good. PS to my fellow singles: on Tuesdays firefighters gather there.

I'm just saying ....

Irish Snug: Located at Colfax just east of Downing (if you hit the Papa John's you've gone too far) has a great late-night happy hour where almost everything you imbibe is on sale. Great food. I suggest the nachos (made from waffle fries). The fish and chips is so authentic it's only missing the newspaper wrapping, and the cheesecake could give a chain "factory" a run for its money. ALSO there is a patio! It's warming up, and this re-developing part of Colfax provides beautiful apartments with flowerboxes and great people watching (in a non-threatening way).

LoDo's: Again, downtown location, but it's offering up it's traditional "Kegs and Eggs" brunch on Friday (March 16) morning. Andrew and Bob from Radio Station "channel 93.3" will be there at 8 in the morning.

Not an early riser? No problem! Great drink specials and Irish love will be running like water through it's tavern-like walls. This is probably the largest (as far as square-footage) of my suggestions, so if you're a "people person," this is probably the dig for you.

What am I missing? I know there are other great pubs in the area (R.I.P. Denver landmark Duffy's). Feel free to add them!

 Cheers!

Maddy
