Denver. Snow. AGAIN!?

Here we go again, maybe. Local newscasters and meteorologists are breathless in anticipation of yet another winter storm, expected to hit eastern Colorado and the I-25 corridor this evening.  To hear them on last night's news, you would think an impending Ice Age is bearing down on us and we should prepare for an apocalyptic wave of the white stuff.  Some reports are actually using the "B-word."  That's right, blizzard.

Sounds as though the eastern plains and southeastern parts of the state will be hit hardest, so hopefully airport and highway travel won't be throttled like it was during the December storms.  Some reports are only calling for a few inches in the metro area.  As for now, outside my window, it's sunny, clear, and clear.  Old Man Winter must be sneaking up on us like a ninja.

So gather up your rations, store your bottled water and bread, and stretch out your back muscles for some more shoveling.  If you're going to be in transit this evening, check out www.denverpost.com for traffic and road reports, or if you're flying, visit www.flydenver.com for air travel updates.   And if you've got nothing else to do, head for the high country and hopefully you find yourself some fresh powder.

Old Man Winter was a comforting visitor for a while starting in December. His weekly friday visits were as exciting as cafeteria food, but still provided nourishment when starving.
That said, I miss the bugger. The more he stops by, the more I happily await summertime.
I suppose when we hit 90 for more than 5 consecutive days I'll be singing a different tune, but as for now, I'll eagerly await the weathercast's warning of "white death."
