Denver Hosts the National Western Stock Show
The National Western Stock Show is in full gear with a week to go! If you have any interest in the cowboy culture, this is a week of critters and mysterious games involving rope, clowns, and barrels!
The rodeo is underway, and looking for volunteers to boot. If you have an interest in dedicating some of your this weeks to oogling cow-person butts and helping with the games, drop me a line! Volunteers are needed!
If the rodeo isn’t your scene, don’t give up on the Stock Show. There are adorable critters to visit with, excellent shopping and a plethora of food. Yes, there is a heavy western theme to the whole affair. You are in Denver! It’s part of the landscape.
But back to the shows. There are nightly rodeo competitions (Have I mentioned that?) as animal shows for critters ranging from dogs to yaks. Did I say yaks? Yes I did! If you are still bored, there is a charro (Mexican cowboys) exhibition, A Night of Dancing Horses, and the Super Dogs show.
To enjoy the stock show you do need to enjoy animals, but if you’re already an animal lover, it’s a matchless chance!
