Liza with a 'Z'
That's right, the real Liza, not a dragshow impersonation, which what we've been used to for the past several years. This coming Saturday, the legendary South Shore Room at Harrah's Lake Tahoe in Stateline re-captures some of the glitz and the glitter that made it famous back in the day.
She began performing at the age of three and has been busy in the industry ever since. She's no stranger to large or small stages or screens, and has taken home more than her share of show biz awards, including Tonys, Golden Globes, an Oscar and an Emmy.
As the daughter of Judy Garland, Liza has always had quite a lot to live up to, but she's filled the role spectacularly. Conquering television, Broadway and Hollywood, one her most successful roles was Sally Bowles in the film version of Cabaret, for which she took several awards. She only reinforced her popularity with her Liza With a Z television concert, and garnered even more awards.
In the past three decades, she has continued her career in the performing arts, in movies, television and music, and now she makes a rare appearance at one of the only Northern Nevada venues worthy of a performer of her stature, Harrah's South Shore Room.
