Kirk wood, if he could.
Kirkwood. Kirk wood, if he could. It's a play on words, you know. Granted, not a very good one. On par with that Kim Basinger and Brad Pitt movie from 1992, where she is a cartoon character, Holli Would, who breaks through to our real, non-animated world. Tag line on the movie posters, "Holli Would, if she could."
Anyway, on to the ski report, and another note about a new addition for 2007-08.
This is Kirkwood's 35th season and they've added new exclusive Burton Powder Progression Programs, a backcountry certification program, a carpool blog ('cause hey, it really is a hike from South Tahoe proper out to the 'Wood...), a full-service family facility and new terrain features.
Also of note, this year, Mokelumne Trail will be dedicated as a skier/boarder cross course. It will also be used for the Kirkwood Cup series and teams to train in for USASA and USSA events.
And, kudos to Kirkwood- SKI Magazine devoted the October 2007 magazine cover to Kirkwood as readers ranked the resort No. 8 for snow quality among all North American resorts. It marks the first time in more than 25 years since a Lake Tahoe resort has been on the cover with such prominent exposure.
