A bar for a very happy hour.

The Tunnel Top bar on Bush street, atop the Stockton tunnel (hence the dark mystery of the bar's name is shockingly solved) is one of the finest watering holes in San Francisco. It is a funky, cozy space with a small, downstairs and a mezzanine and a narrow balcony that overlooks the ruckus below, offering a fine people-watching vantage.

THE WINERY GUIDE: A Closer Look At J. Pedroncelli Winery

Again, as I said in a previous post, while being able to visit big name wineries is fun, one of the biggest advantages of a trip to wine country is seeking out the smaller wineries with unique blends and eclectic atmospheres. THE WINERY GUIDE: A Closer Look At Geyser Peak Winery

If you live in the Bay Area or are just visiting and have any interest whatsoever in baseball, don't waste your money watching the Giants. I love San Francisco and would LOVE to be able to walk to a baseball game from my apartment, which should be a possibility except that, well, it's expensive to watch a losing team in San Francisco.

The Oakland Coliseum, on the ...

Ritual Does Coffee Right

Ritual Roasters LogoIt was more than a year ago when one of my roommates said that they had a friend who was opening a cafe on Valencia street and that this place was going to really focus on the coffee - the picking, roasting and brewing - for optimal taste. They were referring to Ritual ...

SF Beer Festival--The question isn't to drink..it is how much to drink....

It is almost that time of year again.

SF BEER  FESTIVAL.

Ta da! I have had the pleasure of volunteering at the event the last few  years and find it to be a most amusing experience.

Created as a benefit to the Telegraph School Cooperative, the SF Beer Fest is a great chance to sample hundreds of beers that you may know about, and then hundreds of others you DON'T know about.

Those are ...
