Catch Some Great Flicks at the Red Vic

Red Vic Marquee PicOne of the few movie houses that can claim to be worker owned and boasts organic treats at the snack bar, the Red Vic fills its schedule with movies as impressive as its origins. With a good balance of recent second-run movies and older classics from the 1960's to the 2000's, it's a great place to catch the movies you missed in the theaters the first time (even if that was 20 years ago).

Although the screen is quite a bit smaller than most have become accustomed to in the era of the megaplex, they make up for it in ambiance. Grab a seat on one of the couches, or perhaps a pew or an old van seat is more your style. You kind of feel like you're watching a movie in your cool wacky aunt's den. In fact, your aunt probably lives in the Haight-Ashbury district nearby the Red Vic, and maybe if you ever stopped by to see her, she would serve you up some yummy homemade popcorn with real butter in a wooden bowl, just like they do at the Red Vic. I guess she's just gonna have to drop by there to see you, because they've got the experience DOWN to a tee, so why would you ever go to see her anyway, hehe.
