A Missed Opportunity for Beard Papa's Cream Puffs
Now, there is an amusing tale associated with these lovely puffs. Which come in a variety of flavors (chocolate is a very good choice I hear). A quick following was created and every time I go, I see a line. But it is a testament to the treats they provide.
Beginning with the road trip from work that my co-worker Gina and I decided to take one afternoon and ending with a confrontation.
I drop Gina off to make her sweet, puffy purchase and rather than being "that girl who double parks", I decided to aimlessly drive around the block wasting gas and destroying the environment.(*NOTE: there is NO parking so be prepared to go with a team or plan ahead). I swing around once, noooo Gina....Hmm...swing around again, weird..must be a long line.....Third times the charm, no Gina...oh CRAP, it is starting to pour rain. WTF? Swing around one more time, drive by too fast to roll down my window and yell at Gina who is standing on the corner cradling the box of puffs. Oh for the love of Pete could this be any more difficult??? So as a result, I lean over to try to grab my phone to call Gina to let her know I am coming and almost proceed to run people off the road and into the Metreon....uh oh..no phone..hmm this is problematic.
Don't worry folks, this story ends happily with Gina and I finally finding eachother and me being able to cradle my own box of Beard Puffy Puffs. YUM.
But it continues....
So I go home, put them in the fridge and over a hectic holiday schedule leave to go home for the holiday weekend and forget those lovely little puffs. Oh well, I guess I can eagerly look forward to having them when I get back into town.
SCENE:
KK: "ooooh yay I have cream puffs! How exciting"
*scramble to open box, suspicious face appears as I realize the box is a little too light*
KK" wait! where is the other one?? hmm..."
*pick up second cream puff, look at it as it seems to be smashed in...open the wrapper...*
KK: " Oh my god..what the hell?!?!?"
* my last cream puff has a large chunk of it missing, as if someone had taken a bite out of it and PUT IT BACK INTO THE BOX*
KK: "Josh? Did you um have some of my cream puffs?"
JOSH:" uhh yeah, well I was all alone all weekend and um, you know, I was hungry"
KK: " But Josh...you TOOK A BITE OUT OF IT AND PUT IT BACK IN THE BOX"
JOSH: " I saved you some, doesn't that count?"
And that my friends is the tale of my experience with Beard Papa's Cream Puffs. I was robbed, but at least it was nice to give my roommate a bit of joy.
He did say however that they were quite tasty.
