Alegra Bartzat's Biography

Alegra has always loved to write and has been a defender of nature since she protested roadwork that threatened the trees in front of her elementary school in 3rd grade. She spoke in the United Nations a couple years later at an international gathering of youth for the environment. She studied ecology and conservation biology in college and poetry in graduate school. She is a writer and environmentalist in San Diego, where she lives on an urban orchard.
