Harrah's San Diego Casino and Hotel

Last week we (my mate Jeff and I) spent a couple of paradisiacal nights at Harrah's Rincon casino/hotel. It was a superb time. The Las Vegas style hotel is set in Valley Center, about an hour's drive from downtown San Diego. The towering hotel/casino is surrounded by one of the prettiest mountain views San Diego county has to offer. It's deserty warm in that part of the county, and as soon as you step foot into the air-conditioned hotel you feel a sense of "ahhh!"The rooms are elegant-gorgeous and sparkling clean, with a mini-mansion feel. Seriously, the hotel is fairly new, and the rooms are so clean and fresh you feel like you're one of the first people to stay there. Huge bathroom features a comfy tub-for-two, glass shower, set apart toilet. The bedroom is spacious, with bright colorful photo-like art, a huge comfortable bed, large screen TV, and a refrigerator that we kept our Monster Energy drinks icy cold in. Our room boasted a magnificent golden view of the surrounding mountainside and blue, blue skies. I would've enjoyed spending more time in the room, and I wish I'd had more time to spend dawdling in the luxurious pool, however it was impossible with the casino beckoning to me to come try my luck...I'm a slot player myself, and I had a great time playing all the hot new games, like Pompeii, Pelican Pete, and Zeus. I won $150.00 with my first spin on the dollar Zeus machine!  That was fun.

There are several places to eat in the hotel.

You can hang out by the pool and enjoy the beach atmosphere and cuisine of The Cabana Cove, which features bar and grill favorites like fish tacos, burgers, sandwiches, fajitas, salads and seafood.
Harrah's is famous for their 135-item buffet, with  Mexican, Asian, Italian and American stations.Fiore's menu has a wonderful selection of appetizers, salads, soups, the best Certified Angus Beef® and the Pacific's freshest seafood and the finest wines that California has to offer.

Fortunes offers authentic Asian dishes, using the aromatic herbs and spices that make Asian cuisine vibrant, colorful and distinctive. They feature pan-fried noodles, soup noodles and barbecued and roasted main courses.

We ate at the Corner Grill. Jeff had a Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich with fries, and I had the Fish and Chips. Jeff's sandwich was thick with meat, melted cheese, peppers and onions. My plate came with three medium-sized pieces of fish which tasted good, and the fries were crunchy on the outside, potatoey on the inside. Just how I like-em.

They also feature a variety of shows and concerts. I highly recommend staying in this San Diego hotel and casino. Check out http://www.harrahsrincon.com/ for more information.
