Crepes in Hillcrest

Before spending a day wandering the museums in Balboa Park, stop by the Hillcrest neighborhood close by for some delicious crepes, a sandwich or a salad at Crepes de Paris. If you get there early (8-11, Mon-Fri, 8-10 Sat & Sun) take advantage of the breakfast special ($5.95) which gets you 1 large buttermilk pancake, an egg, and bacon. If you prefer more interesting pancakes, choose from fresh strawberry, coconut, or chocolate chip.

On the weekends, the brunch special ($12.25) crepe is a great choice. The half Benedict crepe (ham, egg, cheese) and half chocolate mousse crepe with orange sauce sauce and whipped cream are to die for!  If crepes aren't your thing, the brunch special also includes your choice of a mouthwatering chicken sandwich with homemade mayo or a "pan bagna" sandwich. The sandwiches are served with onion, tomato or mushroom soup or a garden salad with goat cheese toast.

The menu also includes 15 kinds of french omelettes, pasta dishes, and 15 kinds of savory crepes. Everything tastes so fresh and will remind you of a great meal at a Paris cafe. Crepes de Paris is a tiny place with a small patio. The service is excellent and the wait is well worth it.

After your meal, wander down University Avenue to the shops and boutiques of Hillcrest for a perfect weekend outing.

There is a place in Sacramento called Crepeville that has not only desert crecpes but also crepes that have pesto, cheese, onion, tomato, chicken, feta, olive, ect. many more. I would love to see these type of crepes available in san diego. I would most certainly frequent your establisthment if these were available!!! Please consider.
