We are back in Hillcrest again; enjoining a fine salad, exquisite soup, and a bottle of chardonnay. However, Julie is facing a dilemma, it seems her cousin is coming to San Diego for a two week vacation, and she feels an oblation to show him around.

Click on the picture above; it is one of many tasting rooms in the area.
The visit conflicts with a shopping trip and some, "Sonoma Wine Therapy". It was time to refill Barb's wine cellar; and except for rare occasions, Barb preferred Sonoma Napa wine.
Barb pipes in: "That's not really a problem; book him on a Carnival Cruse to Mexico for six days; I'm sure he'll enjoy La Paz and Cabo San Lucas".
"You're simply divine Barb", Julie chimed back- "however did you think of that?"
It was settled then; the three of us are off on a trip to
MacAuthur Place; it beckons the sensation of "warm and cozy"; and the fragrance of crushed grape hangs in the air producing a kind of hallucinatory beauty. Myself, I'm looking forward to an "Adam"- an energizing body treatment that is designed specifically for men - Eucalyptus Body Scrub, Peppermint Bath, and a Rosemary Massage. Garden Spa at MacArthur Place offers over 40 different massage, facial and body treatments utilizing the flowers, herbs and plants found in the garden.
La Vache reflects the quintessence of a "French Bistro" with Mediterranean influences. I recommend the Homemade French Onion Soup Gratinee - followed by a GRILLED SALMON FILET with the white creamy butter & dill sauce.
The Dinner menus are comparable with some of the best in San Diego; be sure and visit if you are in the area, if not, plan a trip, you won't be disappointed, promise.
As always; in pursuit of service and elegance.
Bon Appétit
