San Diego Bar: Cesar Cigar Lounge & Wine Bar
I walked into the Cesar Cigar Lounge and was nearly floored over by the delightful aroma of fine cigars. Finely dressed men and women lined the bar and sat at tables. I stared at the racks of wine and liquor, glimmering in the low light, as I took a seat.
I don’t know much about cigars, but the employees were incredibly kind and knowledgeable and actually took the time to explain how the cigars and wine were made, why they tasted good together and were able to make recommendations based on my preferences. Within no time I was puffing on a fat cigar, sipping a nice Merlot and listening to Frank Sinatra. I wasn’t quite sure how this place had escaped my notice. In addition to the wine and cigars, they had a full array of local beers and even a counter at the back to buy cigarettes. I decided to make my way outside to enjoy the patio. It was a beautiful evening and the colorful spectrum of San Diego nightlife was in full display as I sat, people watched and chatted with some friends.
If you’re looking to escape the loud, pounding music and grinding twenty-something crowd of the clubbing scene this is an ideal place to take a date: you’ll actually be able to hear each other and you just might learn something.
