Meet the Chefs, Help the Kids
On Sunday, April 22nd, you can sample creative masterpieces from 15 of the top chefs in San Diego, complemented by fine wines from Young's Market, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Hilton Del Mar, just east of the fairgrounds. Featured chefs include Nicola Calamari from Il Fornaio (see my review of this restaurant posted under "Dave in Del Mar" blogs), Steve Floyd of The Brigantine, and Frank Terzoli of Scalini, among others.
This is the 11th year in a row for "Meet the Chefs" --- a highlight of the Del Mar social calendar. Where else on earth does this much culinary genius gather in one place, to celebrate one afternoon of delightful experiences? The chefs are on hand and accessible, available to meet and greet you. And they're gathering for a good cause!
Proceeds benefit Casa de Amparo, a local organization which has worked to prevent and treat child abuse since 1978, adding new programs and facilities throughout the years. Tickets for the event are $100 per person.
Hilton Del Mar, exit Via de la Valle from the I-5, proceed west. The Hilton is directly across the street to the east of the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
