I'm hanging out in the "eucalyptus steam room" while Barb and Julie enjoy a "Spa Balinese Massage" in a Spa room for couples. The room even comes with a fireplace. For the more trendy the spa even offers a yoga studio and wellness classes.
As you might guess, we have left Monterey and arrived at the Huntington in San Francisco. No, I'm not contracting myself, as I said, A. Sabella's is where we are going to eat, and if they ever offer the accommodations the Huntington offers, we may stay there.
Tomorrow we visit Bonhams & Butterfields Auctioneers and see about that shodana Barb wants, or she will when she sees it. The ceramic inlay is fantastic; but tonight we eat at a world class restaurant.
I was hungry, maybe it was the "eucalyptus steam room" but whatever it was I opted for dinner: Lamb served with polenta, asparagus, and a Balsamic sun-dried tomato demi glaze. Barb and Julie ate light; barb ordered assorted young greens with balsamic vinaigrette and fresh toasted pine nuts, some shaved Manchego cheese, and fresh picked Dungeness crab. Julie settled for a Dungeness crab appetizer.
The Wines and Dinner menus are comparable with some of the best in the world; be sure and visit if you are in the area, if not, plan a trip, you won't be disappointed, promise.
Bon Appétit
