I was on my second “Tangerine mimosas”
I was on my second "Tangerine mimosas" and still waiting for Barb; she had called and said she was flying into San Diego and could I meet her at the Brockton Villa Restaurant. "Sure," I had said, "what brings you to town?" "There is a gift I would like to pick-up and I just know you can help me with it". Barb was late, not like her at all; you could usually set the time based on her punctuality. "Hi Bill" I heard her say, and then yelled across to the waiter, "I'll have what he is drinking, but put an extra shot of Grand Marnier in it". "You're late," I said as a question. "Yep," she replied. "The chauffeur got lost; when it was 11:00 I ask him where we were, he said close, then muttered something about the GPS was not working". I ask her if she didn't know the way by now; "Heavens no, I don't know the way, that's why I have chauffeurs; and besides, that's what I rely on you for too ... finding the right places. I thought back to our first correspondence: I received an e-mail asking if I knew of a restaurant with a "long history --- world-famous French toast --- and the best Tangerine mimosas anywhere". So if you would like some of the finest food or entertainment in San Diego, whether it be a restaurant with a "long history --- world-famous French toast --- and the best Tangerine mimosas anywhere," contact me by e-mail. Just remember, if you are on a budget, there are plenty of travel guides out there relying on GPS, and so you might try them.
