A cozy place to unwind on Wednesday night in the O.C? Well for an intimate setting with a little live music, fireplace, excellent service, great drinks and food... (and of coarse a couple of HD flat-panels to watch the game) The Landmark Steakhouse is my favorite mid-week place to relax.

Yes, yes I do know how to surf (for the past 10 or so years) and if you are visiting this great place called Orange County, here are some pointers on how to get in the water with a board and enjoy our beautiful beaches.

Balboa Island is actually an area of Newport Beach composed of three artificial islands. If you continue on Jamboree road, past the Pacific Coast Highway you cross a bridge and will find yourself on a boutique lined street, surrounded by gorgeous homes with yachts docked in their backyards.

I've been there, hungry on the road in a new town and not willing to pay $25 or even $15 for lunch. So, where do the locals go? One of my favorite places to grab a quick sandwich and unwind in Newport Beach is the Big Belly Deli.

There is nothing better than enjoying a healthy, delicious breakfast with an ocean view and a great cup of coffee. Unless of course, you are doing it at a friendly little place in Laguna Beach called Heidelberg Pastry Bistro.

Orange County, California often brings to mind TV shows like Laguna Beach, The O.C. or The Real Housewives of Orange County. What is truly amazing about Orange County is that it is as beautiful as portrayed in these TV shows. Orange County hosts an incredible nightlife, a thriving arts community, great hiking trials and of coarse, the beach. In the middle of California's winter (December), you can find locals surfing and walking the sunny beach in flip-flops, so needless to say the weather is great!
