Balboa Island (Great Frozen Bananas)

Balboa Island is actually an area of Newport Beach composed of three artificial islands. If you continue on Jamboree road, past the Pacific Coast Highway you cross a bridge and will find yourself on a boutique lined street, surrounded by gorgeous homes with yachts docked in their backyards.

Balboa island is a great place to spend an afternoon walking around, window shopping and enjoying a lunch, or traditionally, a chocolate covered frozen banana from one of the several ice cream and frozen banana stands.

Take the Balboa Ferry (both foot traffic and cars) over to Newport to enjoy more beach time and shopping. If you are in the area around Christmas time, be sure to check out the Boat Parade around the island. Website: Balboa Island
