Chickens for Christmas are "Walking in a Wired Wonderland"



You have to love the owners of this home at 327 Sapphire on Balboa Island, Newport Beach.  They are definatly in the Christmas mood.  They have illuminated their home with about 25,000 lights and have coordinated the lights to music.

It's a wonderful Life



Lido Theater is a vintage movie theater that opened in 1938.  When it first opened Bette Davis would stop by regularly.

From now until December 20th the theater will be screening "It's a Wonderful Life" nightly at 7 p.m.

Admission is $9.5 for adults and $6.50 for children.

Halloween at Balboa Island



If you want to be spooked by ghosts and goblins take a walk around Balboa Island.  The island definately has island fever.  For Halloween most of the homes along the boardwalk decorate their house with witches and bats, ghosts and goblins.

Cornona del Mar Sandbuilding Contest



On October 7th the beach at CDM will be razed as sand structures are constructed.  If you have never gone to a sandbuilding contest they are quite fun.  The talent and creativity of the participants are amazing.

Pacific Coast Triathlon



If you are up early on Sunday morning and want to  watch top athletes competing then come out this Sunday morning to Crystal Cove State Park for the triathalon.  Athletes will complete a 1/2 mile ocean swim a 12 mile bike ride along PCh and a three mile run along the boardwalk.  While the course is one of the more scenic races it is quite challenging.
