There have been numerous complaints from boat owners in the city as the harbor has tripled the fees in the last few years to raise the money.

A few years ago the City of Newport Beach painted their police cars white. It was in keeping with the coastal theme. Now that time has passed it has been decided that white is not professional for a police car-so for $20,000 they are painting the cars back to black.
